Brenda Joyce Fortes



Biltmore Who's Who Selects Brenda Joyce Fortes as this week's Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry for 2009.

Brenda Joyce Fortes, a 19-year veteran of education, works at Boyertown Area School District, specializing in language arts. She is also a senior high school language arts teacher and serves on the school’s co-teaching program and drafting the Reading Remediation Program.

Currently, Fortes is the high school's designated English writing instructor for the new Dual Enrollment English Writing course, in cooperation with Montgomery County Community College. In addition to being on the high school's Character Committee, Fortes is responsible for writing and regularly updating the academic integrity initiative statement for the school and district. She also serves with the curriculum writing team as they rewrite the Senior High School Reading and Language Arts Program of Studies.

Previously, Fortes lent her talents to Montgomery County Community College as an adjunct English faculty and conducted higher education writing courses. She also served on their President's Advisory Council for Diversity.

Fortes is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She was nominated for the Disney America's Teacher Award in 2002 and was listed in Who's Who Among Americas Teachers in 2000, 2002, 2004-05, Marquis Who's Who in America from 2006-2009, Marquis Who's Who Among America Women from 2008-09, Marquis Who's Who in the World in 2009, the American Biographical Institute's International Who’s Who of Professional and Business Women and Cambridge Who's Who as a VIP member in 2007.

Patricia Neill



Biltmore Who's Who Selects Dr. Patricia Neill as this week's Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry for 2009.

Dr. Patricia Neill, a former teacher for the past 32 years, and a 2007 retiree of the public school system, is now teaching in the graduate program at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.

After graduating from Auburn University in 1977, Neill entered the public school system in the state of Tennessee where she was known as Patricia Ragsdale. She was a special education teacher for 7 years, an elementary school principal for 15 years, central office director of special education for 4 years and a superintendent of schools for 4 years. During her 30 year tenure in Tennessee, she worked in the Anderson County, Oak Ridge and Cumberland County school systems.

When Dr. Neill decided to retire, she returned to her hometown to take on an even bigger venture at Samford University. Working in the graduate program, she instructs current teachers or principals that aspire to advance to the next level of school administration in their future careers. "All of my experiences as a practitioner in the field of education bring life to the classroom in the university setting," Neill said. "My students appreciate experiences from the field that directly correlate to class content and educational research."

In 1994, Dr. Neill was named Principal of the Year by the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce and in 1999 she received an Excellence in Education Award from Fairview Elementary School where she acted as principal. In 2002, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, her team nominated and helped an autistic child receive a Council for Exceptional Children Academic Award at the state and international levels. In Cumberland County she helped implement the first Pre-K programs using money from the Tennessee Lottery funds and facilitated a $26.5 million building project that included a new high school and the renovation of a historic elementary school to be used as a new central office.

Neill, who also holds an EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of Tennessee, was always inspired by her former teachers at Holman Elementary and Woodlawn High. Dr. Neill plans to continue teaching at Samford University's School of Education, looking forward to the years ahead. In her spare time, Patricia enjoys running, reading, jazzercise, tennis and ballroom dancing.

Gena L. Schaublin



Biltmore Who's Who Selects Gena L. Schaublin as this week's Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry for 2009.

Gena L. Schaublin, owner of 360 Mortgage, Inc., started her own business three years ago, with over a decade of financial experience already under her belt.

Schaublin employs only the highest caliber of mortgage professionals, providing the best service and customer care possible. The company is made up of twelve brokers that follow the motto, "Where experience and integrity work for you," a philosophy that Schaublin's team works very hard to deliver. They also strive to implement processes that make each mortgage deal as stress free and seamless for the borrower as they can. "Knowing in your heart that you've given the client a fair deal, not sometimes, but every time," she said, is always her main priority. She also believes that her team of mortgage professionals should weigh their client's options and programs for them to meet their individual needs, and to, more importantly, attend their closings with them.

Priding herself to stay involved with the clients and other realtors, Schaublin says, "I wear many hats everyday and love it." She also focuses on marketing, day-to-day operations of the business and training. Having over twenty-five years experience in management, she loves to motivate and train aspiring individuals.

Ms. Schaublin is a 2006 MBA and marketing graduate and a 2002 Arizona State University communications alumni. She has won many top producing awards in the past, including being the winner of two cars during her time with one very well-known multi-level marketing corporation. She donates to the Sojourners Center for Battered Women and Children and Habitat for Humanity. She's also been a guest speaker for numerous colleges in Arizona, lecturing on business and marketing.
