Biltmore Who's Who Selects Glenn E. McHenry, Jr. as this week's Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry for 2009.

Glenn E. McHenry, Jr., a retired detective sergeant of 30 years and local resident of Akron, Ohio, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Glenn E. McHenry's commitment to excellence in Law Enforcement.

Glenn E. McHenry began his career in law enforcement by attending the Akron Police Academy over thirty years ago. His job history includes serving eight years on patrol assignment, two years with the training bureau, over sixteen years with the traffic bureau, four years supervising the auto theft unit and over twelve years investigating crashes, establishing and administering the accident reconstruction unit, vehicle dynamics training, providing expert testimony for accident investigation and reconstruction, and evaluating police drive skills in defensive, emergency response and pursuit vehicle operations. Glenn has investigated over 3,500 property damage accidents throughout his career, over 1,900 injury accidents, over 1,000 serious injury and felony accidents and over 500 fatal accidents.

Mr. McHenry served as an expert witness to over a dozen different courthouses throughout Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Indiana. He also did consultant work for the Portage County Public Defender's Office. During his career, Glenn was a guest speaker for the Akron Crime Clinic and at University of Akron, School of Law.

His traffic education background, of which he became certified in defensive driving and as a defensive driving instructor through Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA), includes police administration, patrol operations, traffic enforcement, traffic accident investigation and driving. He was also certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for at-scene accident investigation, technical accident investigation, vehicle dynamics and traffic accident reconstruction for heavy trucks, pedestrians and motorcycles.

Glenn is a member of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers and the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists. He currently works privately with traffic accidents, investigations and reconstruction. He earned a diploma from Lake High School in 1969 and attended college soon after.

In his spare time, Glenn enjoys home remodeling and crafts.
