Biltmore Who's Who Selects Sharon Ann Hitzelberg as this week's Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry for 2009.

Sharon Ann Hitzelberg, past employee for The United States Department of Justice, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Sharon Ann Hitzelberg's commitment to excellence in government.

After spending 32 years working with the Department of Justice, Sharon Ann Hitzelberg completed her career as a Supervisory Case Management Specialist in the Environment and Natural Resources Division. She spent twelve years a committee providing expertise with design and testing a new department case tracking system.

Beginning her career in 1974 as a legal support secretary and climbing the ranks to her supervisory case management specialist position, Hitzelberg found herself eventually working within the environment and natural resources division. She has engaged in environmental law coordinating case related matters to over hundreds of attorneys including those at client agencies, courts, Hill and management staff at their headquarters in Washington, DC and in field offices across the country.

Hitzelberg spent another few years working as an In Store Marketer for the home improvement company Empire Today after retiring from her government position. She credits all of her hard work and dedication to "the determination, dependability, loyalty, flexibility to work well with others and a commitment to education." Currently volunteering her time and efforts to local nursing homes and horticulture efforts, her goal is to write a self-help book for those living with multiple sclerosis, the same debilitating disease that she suffered now for thirty-four years.

As a past attendee of Strayer College of Business, Mrs. Hitzelberg also studied through the Department of Justice in Case and Budget related education. She has been involved for a number of years with the Inova Care Center in Fairfax, Virginia as well as Mary Kay Cosmetics. Since relocating to Charleston, South Carolina, she has continued her volunteer work with elderly care at the Island Oaks Center. Sharon has won numerous work accommodations, including the Just Works Award in 1999 awarded by Janet Reno for the integrated case management system for improving operations of the United States Department of Justice. In her spare time, she enjoys home decorating and home improvement hobbies, gardening, entertaining, designing cards, reading and working out.
